Bi-Directional Accumulating Conveyor

Bi-directional accumulators are available in a variety of sizes and construction. Carrying belts are determined by load capacity, friction factors, customer specifications or application. Mat style belts are used and are easy to replace or repair when needed.

Standard tables include a run-by conveyor with a single filing speed up lane. Necessary photo sensors and limits are mounted and included along with electrical panel and control logic. Configuration should be longer than the width to create efficient space utilization of the table. A powered sweep arm is an option to remove any remaining product.

This first in last out (FILO) accumulator operates when the line is backed up and the product migrates toward the open side of the thru lane, activating the reversing bi-directional belt. Once the accumulated product reaches full capacity, the table shuts down and sends a full signal. Once the downstream stoppage is running and creating openings for product, a sensor will signal the table to reverse and unload the accumulated product onto the run-by conveyor and single filer.
